It&#8217;s hard to remember now &#8211; though we did get quite excited when <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/world\/europe\/4445279.stm\" target=\"_blank\">Ben<\/a> popped his head out of his window to give us a shout as we were passing. That&#8217;s him you can just see in the window high up on the right. Nice house he&#8217;s got, isn&#8217;t it? <\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also been a trip to <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.literaryconnections.co.uk\/?p=60\">Texas<\/a>, where I received another warm welcome. Before that it&#8217;s a bit of a blur, though you can read a few things elsewhere on this blog. As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christs.cam.ac.uk\/darknessvisible\/\" target=\"_blank\">Milton<\/a> hath well said in his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dartmouth.edu\/~milton\/reading_room\/sonnets\/sonnet_7\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Sonnet VII<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>How soon hath Time the suttle theef of youth<br \/>\nStoln on his wing&#8230; &#038;c<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Happy 400th birthday, John! He&#8217;s received some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/commentisfree\/2008\/dec\/06\/england-need-milton-poet-comment\" target=\"_blank\">overdue recognition<\/a> this month &#8211; and, appositely, he wrote a fine ode <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dartmouth.edu\/~milton\/reading_room\/nativity\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">On the Morning of Christ&#8217;s Nativity<\/a>.
