Moi?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was good to see that yesterday&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.literaryconnections.co.uk\/?page_id=90\">Word of the Day<\/a>, &#8216;sophistry&#8217;, was also used at least twice in yesterday&#8217;s <em>Guardian<\/em>. &#8216;But I doubt many people believe this is anything other than sophistry in pursuit of profit\u2019 said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/commentisfree\/2009\/oct\/19\/alcohol-worse-than-cigarettes\">Chris Hawkey<\/a> and it appeared in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/commentisfree\/2009\/oct\/20\/sex-trafficking-inquiry-nick-davies\">Comment is Free<\/a> too (online only): &#8216;The piece opens with a clever piece of sophistry&#8230;.&#8217; Clearly Word of the Day is in step with the Zeitgeist (Word of the Day for 12 April 2006). What&#8217;s that? Pretentious? Moi?<\/p>\n<p>Ah yes, Wednesday&#8217;s word is: <strong>pretentious<\/strong>.
